About The Brand: Vera Wang is an American fashion designer of Chinese descent who is most famous for her bridal gowns. Wang originally trained as a figure skater and competed professionally, but when she didn't make the Olympics team, she left the sport and entered the fashion industry, becoming Vogue's youngest editor ever, at age 23. Wang left Vogue in 1985 and worked as a design director for Ralph Lauren before starting her own company two years later. Vera Wang opened her design salon at New York's Carlyle Hotel in 1990, and has become one of the top choices for bridal gown designers. The Vera Wang line has expanded to include eyeglasses, shoes, fur, home goods and and ready-to-wear. Fragrances are offered in conjunction with Coty. The first fragrance, signature Vera Wang for women, was introduced in 2002. A companion men's scent was launched in 2004. Wang's most successful fragrance to date has been Princess, introduced for the young female market in 2006.
